Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) are a type of mutual fund that is freely traded on the stock exchange, just like a company’s shares. The standard brokerage maintenance fee, typically less than 1% per annum, is the only expense to buy and sell. Hundreds of ETFs are available today, giving average investors a simple, inexpensive and most importantly a less risky access to stock futures, global stock exchanges, short selling, corporate bonds, commodity and currency trading.
